PUBLIC SERVICE ANNOUNCEMENT FROM SHERIFF ALEX LAPE

A phone scam is going around stating a Judge from Fairfield County Court has issued an arrest warrant for failure to appear for jury duty. They are stating a detective is working on it but needs the person to post bond, in hopes the person will give credit card information. The number they are calling from is programmed to appear as a Fairfield County phone number. Anyone who falls victim to this scam may call the Fairfield County Sheriff’s Office at 740-652-7900 to make a report.
