An individual is contacting residents and purporting himself to be, "Lt. John Warner of the Fairfield County Sheriff's Department". This is a scam call. Anyone receiving this type contact please call the Sheriff's Office at 740-652-7900. A Dispatcher will take your information or forward you to Lt. Warner's voice-mail.
Typically, Lt. Warner does not reach out to residents in this manner, unless you contacted him and are expecting a return call. If you receive this type of phone call it is most likely a scammer.
Do not call the number back and if you speak to this caller do not provide any information or money that this person may request. Call the number above and report it. If you need to speak with Lt. Warner in an unrelated matter, call the above number. Your call will be routed to Lt. Warner. This issue is currently under investigation by the Sheriff's Office.
