As part of the closing of the 2024 "Freedom's Never Free" event, a Military Veteran/First Responder is selected for their service, to be presented the event flag. This year, Deputy Kristy Peck was selected to receive that honor. Deputy Peck served in the Army National Guard, and deployed to Iraq. Deputy Peck currently serves as a School Resource Officer for the Lancaster City Schools, along with her therapy K9, Nala.
